OUGD603 — Brief 01 - Halleycat 2014 - Competition Iconography

Part of the brief specifically asked for a logo for each of the competitions being hosted in the Halleycat.

Sprint, Hill Climb, Track Stand & Skid.

I needed to come up with an idea which would bring them together as a set, but define them at the same time. The idea I pitched to Tim & Nathan was a wheel symbol for each competition, this tied them all together (two of the front wheel, two of the back).

They both liked this idea so I developed the sprint icon into a vector for some final feedback before developing the rest.

Tim said he thought the rims could be deeper, but after trying it, it almost looked like the tyre was on the inside and way out of proportion. After both agreeing on this I developed the rest.

A last minute decision was to do the track stand logo flat too as Tim said it might ruin the consistency. This was something I didn't think about so was good of him to mention. For that I just used the sprint logo and removed the motion lines.

All of these worked great as a set and Tim was really happy with the outcome.
